Abigail Haight Huntsman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Utah but spent a significant amount of time in Asia, including Taiwan and Singapore.

Huntsman graduated from East High School and spent her freshman year of college at the University of Utah, where her father was running for governor. She then enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and communication in 2008.

Huntsman began his career in television at the age of sixteen, working behind-the-scenes at Good Morning America. According to her own admission, she despised it so much that she considered quitting television “forever.” Huntsman interned with Diane Sawyer while a student at the University of Pennsylvania. Huntsman became so taken with Sawyer’s portrayal of herself and manner of delivering news that she later stated, “I always think of her as someone I hope I can emulate.”

She later joined HuffPost Live, the Huffington Post’s streaming network, as a host and producer. Additionally, she was a frequent guest on CNN.

Huntsman joined Fox News Channel as a general assignment reporter in October 2015. She reported on breaking news across the network’s daytime and evening shows. In December 2016, she was chosen as the new co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend. On August 12, 2018, she made her farewell appearance as a co-host of the show.

On September 4, 2018, Huntsman joined Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Meghan McCain as co-hosts of the long-running ABC chat show The View.In 2019, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host alongside her co-hosts. Huntsman announced her departure from The View in January 2020 to serve as a senior advisor to her father’s 2020 Utah gubernatorial election campaign; she made her farewell appearance as a co-host on the January 17 edition. Her father was defeated in the Republican primary for governor of Utah in 2020.
