Early Life
Earhardt was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, with her family as a small child. Sharon Elementary School was her alma mater. When Earhardt was in primary school, her family relocated to the Columbia, South Carolina, area, and she graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1995.
Earhardt attended Florida State University following high school before transferring to the University of South Carolina, where she earned a B.A. in journalism.

Career
Earhardt began her career as a reporter for WLTX, Columbia, South Carolina’s local CBS station, prior to graduating from the University of South Carolina. She worked as a morning and noon anchor from 2000 to 2004. She came to New York City following the September 11 attacks to report on South Carolina middle school kids’ efforts to raise nearly half a million dollars for firemen to purchase a new fire engine to replace one destroyed at the World Trade Center site.
In 2005, Earhardt relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where she was the anchor of KENS-weekday TV’s morning and noon newscasts. While living in Texas, she finished the Austin half-marathon, skydived with the United States Army’s Golden Knights, and flew in an F-16 with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds at the Air Force Academy.
Earhardt is the author of two picture novels for children (Take Heart, My Child and Through Your Eyes) and a memoir, The Light Within Me.
