Early Life
Bream enrolled at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia when she was 17 years old and won the Miss Virginia pageant during her undergraduate years. She then competed in the Miss America pageant in 1991. Her scholarship provided for a large portion of her undergraduate studies.
Bream returned to Tallahassee after graduating from Liberty University in 1993 with a degree in Business Management, magna cum laude. He attended law school at Florida State University. She interned in the US House of Representatives with Florida Congressman Bill McCollum. McCollum will subsequently become the Attorney General of Florida. While attending Florida State University’s law school, she won the Miss Florida USA pageant in 1995 and finished fourth in the Miss USA 1995 pageant. Again, Miss USA scholarship money covered the cost of her law school tuition.

Career
Bream relocated to Tampa, Florida, after earning a JD degree with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1996. She began her work as a lawyer specialized in race discrimination and sexual harassment.
She subsequently left the law field to seek a career in television reporting. She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2001, where she worked as an evening and late-night news correspondent for the CBS station, WBTV. Bream joined Washington, D.C.’s NBC station WRC-TV in 2004 after three years at WBTV. She worked as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter for WRC-TV.
